For more than forty years, I have been working on curriculum to share them with those called into discipleship. My goal has been to lead people to come under Lordship of Jesus in all they do, and gain a deeper appreciation for His Word and the local church. My heart has been to work with those who are eager to acknowledge Christ in all their ways and want to learn to hear His voice, discern His will, and live in a way where pleasing Him is the priority.
My first book, Jesus is Still Making Disciples Today, is part of a larger series of books that we are in the process of printing. These studies are laid out like the floor plan of a house, taking you from one study to the next, as if going from room to room in a systematic way. This is why we call it Discipleship House. I have created a unique study program that allows you to do in-depth studies based upon what you are really interested in studying -- at your own pace. I can provide the study guides, which cover over fifty different subjects that touch your life where you live.

We try to find short-term housing for each student. In the past people have often stayed with families in our church, who have bought houses with this in mind.

WHEN DOES IT BEGIN?

We will be starting the first week of January with a five-day retreat. Then classes begin at our Discipleship House from 9:00-12:00 each weekday. The students are placed in home groups for Wednesday evening and there are a morning and evening service to attend on Sunday. During our time together, we will take road trips to various places and visit other churches. Each student will need to have $500 on hand to help cover these expenses. Otherwise the program is free and the cost of staying in homes will be without charge. The course is 10 weeks long, ending mid-March.

Those who are part of our discipleship program can choose from about fifty other topics, depending on what the Lord is dealing with them about. I also recommend books to read from my book list and give them access to my personal library. It contains resources that added a lot to my own spiritual formation when I was a young disciple.
Beyond this, the students receive some practical assignments in our church and community that help them grow. There are also opportunities to go on local preaching trips with me on weekends and to do retreats.
The bottom line is this: Jesus must become our Master (Teacher), and we must become His disciples first and foremost. My role is simply to create a framework for this to take place and to challenge students to embrace it completely.
COME FOR A WEEK OF STUDY
We also encourage people, especially pastors, to come for a five-day class during the ten-week period, using this as a personal retreat. You start by joining us for our evening service at WellSpring Fellowship (at 5:00 p.m.) and then beginning on Monday morning until noon each day, then heading for home on Friday afternoon. To do this we invite you to stay right at the Discipleship House in guest rooms we made for this purpose. Contact us at if you would like us to reserve a room for you. There is not cost involved for those who we in partnership with.
